| This vintage Navajo Tug necklace as it is known around here or Santa Domingo as it is know elsewhere is something else. It is so beautiful, I am almost tempted to not sell it, but instead to keep it for myself. I just love it. The 4 main strands are each about 10'' long, and the 4 smaller tug strands below the large Red Corral are each about 5-1/4'' long . The beads taper from the largest on the main strands being about 3/8'' in diameter tapering to about 1/8'' in diameter at the top of the main strands. The large Red Corral Center binding barrel bead is about 5/8'' in diameter. The Turquoise beads you see are most likely stabilized. The black beads appear to be Jet, while the red are for sure Red Corral. The white beads are another story. I called a Navajo Jewelry Maker friend of mine, and she could not tell me for sure . Could be a lot of things, so your guess is as good as mine. Now, from the top of the string , which is surly original, it measures about 20'' long. Remember, that is hanging length only. If you measured all the strands together you would have a total of about 60-61'' total, and that is one heck of a lot of work. Again, just so beautiful and unusual of a piece. Came from an old pawn shop in Winslow Arizona which borders the Navajo Nation . Thanks for your interest kk-208 |
| This is a vintage Bracelet, made of Sterling Silver, Turquoise and Red Corral. The Turquoise is in Nugget form, all three being free-form with matrix and polished. The center stone is about 3/4'' x 3/8'' The end ones are smaller. The two cab's of Red Corral are each about 3/8'' tall by about 3/16'' wide. All are set in saw-tooth bezels. The main body of the bracelet is about 3/4'' wide and measured on the inside of the band is about 5-1/4'' with an additional 1-1/2'' opening giving you a total of about 6-3/4''. Could possibly be squeezed a bit or spread carefully to make a better fit. Signed "LT" for the Navajo who made this beautiful older bracelet. Thanks for your interest. | This is a find I found in a pawn shop over in Winslow, Arizona, last year, and it borders the Navajo Nation's Reservation. It is about 3/4'' plus wide and about 6'' measured on the inside of the band with an additional opening of about 3/4'' giving you a total wrist size of about 6-3/4'' total. It may be able to spread or close slightly, being very careful while your doing it. It is marked 12k and JL but cannot tell you who actually made it. Very nice bracelet indeed. Gold Fill or 1/20 yellow gold is in the center areas of the stamped design. Thanks for your interest Item ID: kk-13 |
| This is one of those finds of the century you come across now and again. This one I almost fell over when I found it at an estate sale because of the patina and size of the Red Coral. Coral this size is just about not available anywhere as the older growths where this would now be are protected. Years ago, you could get it. This pendant which is Sterling Silver and carries all the patina to go with it is about 2'' long, not counting the bail and about 3/4'' wide. The extremely large and exquisite piece of Red Coral is about 3/8'' wide and about 1'' long and the Turquoise nugget is about -+5/8'' long and about 3/8'' wide. Both stones set in flat mounts, with no seams showing also shows the expertise and work that went into this piece as it is almost non-existent these days. I would estimate this piece from about the mid-fifties. Not signed but there are a couple of initials scratched into it "RN" which could even have been the owners name Item ID: kk-431 |
| This is a vintage cute little cuff bracelet just like mommies, that is very well made, but older piece of the S.W. History. It measures about 4-1/8'' inside the band with an additional 5/8'' opening which will give you a wrist size of about 4-3/4'' total. Now this bracelet not having any "wings" is very easily adjusted by carefully bending the outer bands and therefore should allow it to fit for a few years or so. It has a total of 15 stones, of which 14 are about 1/8'' x 1/4'' and the center stone is about 1/8'' diameter. The main body is about 1'' x 2'' overall. Not signed in any way, but not unusual for the older vintage pieces. Thanks for your interest in this really well made cute little baby cuff bracelet Item ID: kk-173 |
| Massive is the only way along with unique to describe this vintage and very wonderful bracelet It measures about 1-1/4'' tall, and is close to 1/4'' thick of Sterling Silver, (tested). The top surface of the bracelet is stamped or cut with what appears to be a "mesa theme" and the bottom is very rough textured. Really a nice piece of work. Now the bezel, It measures about 1-1/4'' tall overall and about 1'' wide. The outer band of Turquoise is inlaid pieces on a silver base, and the bezel is silver holding the center stone of Turquoise which is about 3'4'' tall by about 5/8'' wide. A real beauty and unfortunately it is not signed in any way. But this is for sure a one of a kind and very remarkable piece of jewelry. It actually reminds me of the Tommy Singer style throughout, but he generally signs all of his work, so do not think it is, unless it is an earlier piece of art by him. Measures about 5-1/2'' on the inside of the band with an additional opening of about 1'' giving you a total wrist size of about 6-1/2''. Could be carefully spread or closed to make a better fit for your wrist. This peice weighs in about 90 grams total. A very solid heavy piece.
